You cross paths with people every day never knowing the impact you may have on their lives. Sometimes you meet people for a moment. A simple “hi” in a coffee shop on your way to work in the morning. Sometimes you meet people for a reason. They make you stronger. They teach you a lesson. Then just as fast as they came into your life, they’re gone. And then, there are those you meet for a lifetime. A life changing event brings you together and even after it has come and gone, those relationships still make sense.
We are women from all over the U.S. We even cross the border into Canada. In July 2010 we walked down the aisle to our happily ever after. But, for months before that, we planned and we prepared and we dreamed together as part of the July 2010 Wedding Board on The Knot. We shared advice, calmed each other’s nerves and counted down to what would be the most amazing day of our lives. One by one we walked down the aisle and one by one we shared our stories and our photos. During that time we had become more than just advice givers. We had become friends.
And now here we are, five years later. All of us on different paths in our lives, but closer than ever. We still share our stories and our photos. We still lean on each other for advice and comfort. Through good times and bad, we have been there for each other. Some of us have even had the pleasure of meeting in real life. Others still have never met, but that has never mattered much. Because no matter the distance or the way we all found each other, we have formed an irrevocable friendship that few will ever understand. We have created bonds with each other through loyalty and compassion in the rarest form.
As we continue on our paths, we revel in the fact that we have an amazing group of girls to share our greatest joys and give us strength in the times we’re afraid of what might be around the corner. This is our journey. This is our story. We are the July 2010 Knotties.
